4. DM’s or Direct messages are a way to get the ball rolling one-on-one. Tweeters can message one another directly using this feature. So when they see the possibility for a bit more than socializing, they can go private via the DM.
5. Creating hash tags with suggestive messages is another way to flirt with someone, while being coy and humorous at the same time. It allows you to subliminally send a signal that you’re interested, in such a way that only your person of interest would “get” even though it’s sent publicly.
6. As with other text media, winky and playful emoticons are heavily employed, particularly since the character count leaves little room for dialogue. The use of symbols is a necessity on Twitter more so than in phone texting or emails.
7. Twitter dating sites like datetwit.com or Luv@FirstTweet make your flirting a lot easier. You can set up a profile and find romantic prospects via these sites in order to get to know people a lot more easily, using a focused search.
8. Euphemisms are not only a shrewd way to convey your message covertly over a public medium, they also can add a tinge of fun to the game of cat-and-mouse that flirting so often is. Particularly for members whose current relationship status necessitates prudence, this tactic is a popular ruse.
9. Photos back and forth are a great way to really take the next step and get to know each other better. Again, this is something that should be dome in DM or Facebook messages for obvious reasons.

They want their teeth to be pearly white and their breath to be fresh and clean, for appearance sake of course, but how about for practical purposes? Have you considered all the things people use their teeth for when they’re dating? There could be a lot of biting going on and you should make sure your chompers are up to the task. Haven’t really thought about it? Here are 10 things people might bite when they’re out on a date. 

1. Breath mint – They want to have fresh breath so it’s likely that most people will pop a breath mint at some point. If they’re like me, they won’t have the patience to let it dissolve completely and end up chomping it up in the end. A breath mint may the first thing to take a bite of on a date.
2. Their lip – First dates can make people apprehensive, so it stands to reason they may bite their lip at some point. Does this outfit look ok? Will it fit the occasion? Maybe this whole thing was a bad idea. There could be a lot of lip biting happening on a date.
3. Their tongue – People on dates sure don’t want to say the wrong thing, so there may be a time to bite their tongue. Whether this is actually or figuratively speaking, there could come a point in the conversation that calls for prudence. Instead of blurting out the first thing that comes to mind, clamp down on that tongue until you come up with something intelligent to say. Just try not to draw blood.
4. Their foot – Those who didn’t heed the last advice, may find themselves putting their foot in their mouth and should subsequently take a bite. How does it taste? Next time pay attention to number 3 and you won’t be dining on your foot.
5. Fingernails – Dating can make some people really nervous and that’s bad news for nail biters. No matter how much you’re tempted, don’t let your date see you bite your fingernails. This bad habit is a dead giveaway and needs to be suppressed at all costs.
6. Food – Many people go out to dinner, a movie or someplace that serves some kind of refreshment, so it wouldn’t be unusual at all to take a bite of food on a date. 7. Drink straw – Instead of going out for food, some couples just go out for drinks on a date so they may on occasion bite on a drink straw. This is perfectly acceptable if it doesn’t get out of hand. Handing your date an empty drink glass with a totally mangled straw sticking out can be a turn off.
8. A neck – If a date turns passionate there may be some neck nibbling going on. Lucky them! However, caution should be observed when biting necks or other various body parts. Don’t get carried away. Hickeys are so not cool.
9. More than they can chew – Now here’s something couples don’t want to do on a date and that’s bite off more than they can chew. There’s something to be said for taking things slow and using caution. This metaphor should remind people they shouldn’t commit to something they’re bound to regret later.
10. The dust – Unfortunately, some dates just don’t go well and that can mean the end of a relationship. This is the last thing people want to happen, but there may come a time when another one bites the dust. Their only choice then is to pick themselves up and move on. Better luck next time.

1. Feelings of abandonment – No one likes to feel like they’ve been abandoned. If you’re a workaholic and never home or available, your spouse may very well feel like he or she has been left alone, and in an attempt to remedy those feelings may turn to someone else.
2. Loneliness – The spouse of a workaholic can become lonely. When you first get married, you don’t expect to have to spend a lot of time alone or that you’ll have to compete with your spouse’s job for their time and attention. 3. Pay back – Some may feel wronged by the fact that their spouse is choosing work over their relationship. He or she may choose involvement in an extramarital affair as a way of getting back at their mate.
4. Friendship – Sometimes a friendship will develop between the spouse of the workaholic and someone else. This friendship can fill a certain need for communication and attention, and before you know it, the connection turns into something more. It may not be an intentional affair, but one that happens as a natural progression of the relationship.
5. Excitement – Workaholics have their work to keep them busy and entertained. Not so with their spouses. The spouse may go looking for some excitement and find it in a willing sex partner.
6. Not satisfied with home life – It would be difficult to be satisfied with your home life when your spouse is always gone and never available. Some spouses may try to make it work for a while, but after realizing that nothing is changing they may decide to find satisfaction elsewhere.

9. Unhappiness – Being the spouse of a workaholic can lead to a lot of personal unhappiness. If the spouse is constantly trying to get the workaholic to be a little more considerate of home life and the marriage, but is continuously met with more of the same, the unhappiness will grow. This in turn can lead to one who strays from the marriage in order to find some kind of happiness elsewhere.
10. Frustration – A workaholic may not realize how selfish they are being. They may honestly feel that they are doing what’s best for the family. Meanwhile the spouse may be trying to get the message across that the relationship is the more important of the two. As the message continues to fall on deaf ears the frustration will mount. The spouse may initiate an affair out of frustration thinking that infidelity might just be the wakeup call their spouse needs.

Whatever the reason, and there are many, it’s best to seek counseling before choosing to have an affair. If both partners are willing to work together to save the marriage, chances are it can be saved and possibly made even be stronger.

Thanks in no small measure to the fashion industry and its preference for impossibly thin models, women have been brainwashed into believing that the ideal figure comes in a size 2. In truth, many men prefer women with more, shall we say, substance. Yes, curves are back in a big way and men love them. Here are 10 reasons why some men love bigger women:

1. Culture – Physical attraction is of course an individual thing, but a physical ideal is often the product of a particular culture. In many cultures, the ideal female figure is more curvaceous, and men from those cultures are naturally more attracted to women who fit that image.
2. Biology – From a physiological standpoint, the female figure throughout history had been viewed from the perspective of one’s child-bearing characteristics. Wider hips and larger bosoms indicated fertility, strength and nursing capabilities.
3. Memory – Some men might have a preference for larger women based on a psychological attachment to a strong female figure in their early lives. The physical dimensions they seek in a mate reflect the level of influence or control that figure had on them in their formative years.
4. Mother – In the same way that many cultures have valued women for their ability to bear children, some men choose women in an attempt to replace their own mothers. Their physical preferences are rooted in the aforementioned idealized maternal image.
5. Fidelity – Some men choose larger women based solely on the pretext that, as such, these women would be less likely to cheat on them. Their logic goes that a larger woman will be less attractive to other men, thus ensuring her fidelity. What this says about such a man’s self-image and his view of the opposite sex could fill a book.
6. Insecurity – Some men choose larger women because, like the men described above, their preference is rooted in self-doubt. Their insecurity about their own appearance draws them to women whom they regard to be physically less-than-ideal themselves, and so won’t be rejected for their own shortcomings.
7. Modern – Modern culture has recently begun to once again celebrate the zaftig female form. The prevalence of plus-size women in pop culture has changed a lot of minds regarding physical attraction.
8. Compatibility – A predilection for plus-size mates might in some instances simply be a matter of physical compatibility. Large men would logically be expected to gravitate toward large women, closer to their own dimensions.
9. Attraction – There are men who just like “something to grab onto”, as they say. They find the substance of a larger woman more sexually appealing and satisfying. Women with curves look like women, which leads us to our next observation …
10. Different – As the French saying goes, vive le différence! Men are attracted to those attributes of the opposite sex that make them different. The history of the gay community in America can be traced through significant milestones in pop culture. The march toward equality and social acceptance continues for gays, of course, but throughout their journey, we have seen some memorable moments. Here is a list of 10 pop culture breakthroughs for the gay community:

1. The Advocate – It began as a simple Los Angeles-based newsletter, published by activist group PRIDE (Personal Rights in Defense and Education). It grew into a newspaper, and then a monthly magazine, with a circulation of over 175,000, serving the LGBT community across the country.
2. Advise and Consent (1962) – A political drama at its core, this Otto Preminger film has a brazenly forthright (for its time) subplot involving the homosexual past of one of its main characters, a rookie senator played by Don Murray.
3. First Gay Pride Day (1970) – New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles host their first events for gay rights. Marches are formed in both New York and L.A., while a ‘gay-in’ is staged in San Francisco.
4. That Certain Summer (1972) – A TV movie is aired which depicts major stars Martin Sheen and Hal Holbrook as homosexual lovers. The fact that it is a made-for-television film, with big name stars in gay roles is a huge pop culture milestone.
5. Rock Hudson (1985) – The AIDS scourge that had ravaged the gay community for a decade suddenly had a new face, and one that was loved and revered by the public. Hudson showed the world that the gay community’s struggle was closer to home than many had chosen to believe to that point.
6. An Early Frost (1985) – Another made-for_TV movie, it is about a young gay man who must share the news with his parents of not only his homosexuality but also of his having contracted AIDS.
7. Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes (1992) – A play by Tony Kushner that addresses such issues as AIDS, religion and politics from a gay perspective. It wins the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for drama.
8. Ellen (1997) – A TV sitcom starring Ellen DeGeneres, in which the title character Ellen Morgan comes out as a lesbian. That same year, DeGeneres herself goes public about her homosexuality on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

It’s no secret that a breaking up is a painful process, no matter which side of it you’re on. Almost everything about it is miserable, but there are some things that are particularly hurtful; these ten things are among the worst parts of ending a relationship.

How many times have you heard or said, “All of the good ones are taken.”  The single dating scene is harder than ever these days.  How do you know who’s really great and who’s just making stuff up to sound great?  Many more people are meeting online in chat rooms, or through dating sites than ever before.  While this seems like a good thing, how do you know who to trust?  Even when you meet them for coffee in a public place to check them out you may still not know if they are worth dating.  Check out 10 signs that someone will say ANYTHING to date you.

1. His stats suddenly match what you are looking for online: You’ve entered what you’re looking for in the perfect guy and you’ve checked out many of the guys online, but out of the blue this guy now has all of the things you’re looking for even though you’re pretty sure that you thought he was a loser the first time you saw his profile.
2. She agrees with everything you say: You meet this girl in a bar and she’s kind of cute, but the more you talk with her you figure out that she is a ‘yes’ girl.  She has no opinion of her own, but now loves everything you love and can’t agree with you fast enough.
3. He sounds too good to be true: You’ve moved from the Internet to talking by phone.  At first you think that he sounds great and that you’ve finally found Mr. Right, but then it starts sounding a little fishy that he’s a doctor, drives the perfect car, lives in the perfect neighborhood, and does charity work with kids in his free time.  If he sounds too good to be true he’s probably lying.  Wake up!
4. Things don’t add up: The hard thing about lying is that once you tell so many lies it’s hard to keep track of what you’ve said.  Keep in mind what he’s told you before and see if what he’s telling you could be true.  He graduated top of his class and is a successful doctor, but he’s 23 years old.  That’s not possible.  Sometimes it won’t be that obvious, but he may be telling you what he thinks you want to hear and you can lead him into tripping himself up if he’s lying.
5. He loves even ugly stuff if you do: Just for fun you should point out something that is utterly hideous and say how pretty it is.  If he chimes in with, yeah I know right.  You know that he is probably not being genuine and that you either need to tell him to knock it off or take a hike at this point.
6. She stares into your eyes the whole time: There is something to be said for making eye contact and paying attention to the person you are with.  There’s something else when you think you’re in a staring contest with them and you are wondering who’s going to blink first.  This happens with women probably more than men, but many times women are constantly trying to gauge what a guy is thinking and trying to have that moment where he looks deep into her eyes and falls head over heels for her.  During the first date this is just creepy.
7. He apologizes a lot: I don’t know what is it, but some people just think it’s their job to apologize for everything that goes wrong.  Now, there are some people that are just naturally like that and if you think they are being genuine and you are okay with that then great, but sometimes guys just try too hard to make everything perfect and if it’s not then they are constantly saying they are sorry.  It gets old so give it a rest.
8. Super self-conscious: People that are trying too hard to impress you and are willing to say anything to date you will often be super self-conscious too.  They will have an excuse for everything.  Sorry I’m not dressed up more; sorry I didn’t get my hair cut etc.
9. Tries too hard: Someone that is willing to say anything to date you will spend the whole time complimenting you and telling you how smart you are and how witty.  One or two compliments during an evening is fine and probably nice, but when they are saying things every other sentence they are trying too hard and are willing to keep buttering you up so they can get that date or something else.
10. Small talk-itis: I think women fall into this category a bit more than guys, but they just babble on about nothing.  They are trying to land on the perfect thing to get you to talk.  They don’t want to say anything of substance in case you wouldn’t agree with their position.  Be real and have a real conversation, it’s worth the risk.

1. Hit the Bike Trails – Biking with a triathlete might be daunting at first, but most Ironman participants realize that their skill level is a bit higher than most. Even if they have to slow it down in order for you to keep up, they’re likely to be touched that you made the attempt.

3. The Daytime Outing – Ironman athletes typically train very early in the morning; the late-night date usually isn’t their first choice. Suggesting an early meet-up and acknowledging those morning training sessions is a great way to show that you respect your honey’s commitment.
